Senior Manager of Marketing
Niagara Parks Commission | September 2014 – September 2020

Niagara Parks is a financially self-sustaining 135 year agency of the Province of Ontario, with a product/service portfolio including the falls and the 56 kilometre Niagara Parkway, ticketed attractions, gardens and trails, golf courses, restaurants, heritage sites, retail, and weddings sales. In this role I led the Marketing division of the business development team, comprising marketing, brand, and campaign strategies across all business units, digital and graphic design, social content development and media buys, travel media relations, online sales and wayfinding and commercial signage. Significant achievements included: 

·         Led, conceived and executed a successful brand redevelopment of Niagara Parks after 135 years

·         Built the total social following of the Niagara Parks brand by over 2000%, including ethically growing our Facebook following from 10,000 to over 350,000 followers, making it one of the top three travel/tourism destination pages in Canada

·         Developed multi-year Sales and Marketing Strategies that contributed to revenue growth of approximately 40% over five years to $130 mil annually

·         Conceived and led the creative development of several special events and programs that received national and international interest, attention and visitation, such as Namaste Niagara, and the Niagara Stage

·       Engaged travel, food and lifestyle media writers, creators and influencers in campaigns and projects resulting in annual media values worth over $200mil, ranging from local food focuses to international frozen falls features

CoMotion Coworking and Event Spaces is a self-sustaining labour of love. Being a strong believer in Hamilton’s potential, in 2014 young-professional colleagues and I started this 10,000 square foot creative shared-office and event space to support both the inventive community and burgeoning start-up scene in Hamilton. My role now is predominantly advisory, however, significant achievements included:

·         Conceived and built the CoMotion brand and communication strategies, becoming one of the most recognized coworking brands nationally, featured in the Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, CBC and Canadian Business

·         Led the growth of the CoMotion community to be among the top 5 largest coworking membership networks in Canada, and the largest in Southern Ontario, and one of the highest rated on Facebook, Google, Coworker.com

·         Recognized by the City of Hamilton for our contributions to the community, including recipient of Hamilton Economic Development’s “Fast 40” award for city’s fastest growing small-businesses
